Honolulu Marathon 2017 — 5 Comments

  1. You done great all things considered, but you might want to get that knee checked out by the docs to see what is going on in there and get that 50 year clean-out if you need it. I did and it made a huge difference in my running – now to just get the rest of the body to cooperate as well. 🙂 Never made it to Hawaii and probably never will, it has always been one of those dream things, but it is nice to read about the adventures like yours. You finished and didn’t embarrass yourself – good things. 🙂

    • Thanks Harold. I’m surprised that during your time in The Coast Guard you never made it out that way.
That little voice is telling me to get the knee checked out. It’s okay for a half marathon. Well, it’s not as bad would be more accurate.
Seeing my Orthopedist is on my 2018 “to-do” list. Probably will go back to my PT again so he can shake his head at all of the things he told me to do that I didn’t keep up with.
I’ve incorporated some of the things my Ortho and PT told me, but obviously not enough.
      Merry Christmas!

  2. Hope your knee injury isn’t serious.

Every time I read a recap like this, I am happy to continue only running half marathons.

    • I need to have my knees checked out again in 2018. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

Sometimes while I am running a marathon I’ve thought about running a half instead.

A half seems to be about the right distance. My knees seem to be able to hold up during a half.

But, I would never travel across the country to run a half. Maybe a few states away though.
