Here are some St. Patrick’s Day 5K races in the greater Boston area. St. Patrick’s Day 5K races, like most holiday themed races, take place around the actual holiday. This gives you the opportunity to run a St. Patrick’s Day themed race two weekends in a row or twice in a weekend if you want!

Saturday – March 10, 2018 9:00 AM – Medway, MA
Sponsored by the Medway Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, the race raises funds for Medway’s elementary schools. Supporting creative arts programs, cultural arts programming, teacher appreciation events, and other activities that benefit Medway schools and enhance the children’s education.
The 5K course winds through the scenic back roads of Medway and is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, including children and families. You will also be able to register teams this year, which can be fun for the family. Be creative and make sure you wear green!
Now in it’s 7th year, this race offers four prize categories, but does not have a finisher’s medal. If you are running with your child and it is their first 5K, they may be thrilled to get a My First 5K finisher’s medal from you.
Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for 17 and younger. Registration includes a t-shirt.

Proceeds support HESSCO programs and services of providing support and services to seniors, individuals living with a disability and their caregivers in South Norfolk County.
HESSCO packages and delivers an average of 130,000 home delivered meals each year and serves an additional 30,000 meals annually in dining room settings. Our drivers not only deliver a hot, nutritious meal, but they provide a wellness check and a friendly visit. For many, this is the difference needed to maintain their dignity and independence at home.

Sunday – March 11, 2018 9:30 AM
This St. Patrick’s Day 5K is based out of The CambridgeSide Galleria.
The race starts on near-by Thorndike Street and winds through East Cambridge. On the way back the race goes through Paul Revere Park, under the Zakim Bridge and winds through North Point Park before going out onto North Point Blvd. The final stretch goes through Lechmere and ends on First Street.
The after party is in the mall, so you don’t have to worry about inclement weather. Beer has been provided by Notch and Slumbrew, so you can’t go wrong.
I ran this race in 2017 and the course is pretty cool. If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like under The Zakim bridge, you will be pleasantly surprised. 2017 Craicfest 5K Recap.
This Cambridge 5K race has grown rapidly since 2014 with almost 1,600 finishers in 2016. In 2017 over 2350 registered, but an 8° day cut the attendance to 1550 runners. The race tends to draw a younger crowd and has a party environment. Keys and kids are optional. Lechmere station is near by.
Saturday – March 17, 2018 10:00 AM – Marshfield, MA
This St. Patrick’s Day 5K is sponsored by the Marshfield Education Foundation and is now in it’s 8th year. This is a large race, drawing over 2,000 runners.
Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for 19 and under. A long sleeve tech shirt for all runners and age group awards from 10 and under up to 70+.
While there are many age group awards to win, there isn’t a finisher’s medal for all runners.
Saturday – March 17, 2018 10:00 AM – Salisbury, MA
This race is entirely within the flat, straight paved roads inside the scenic Salisbury Beach State Reservation. This is the perfect course for runners looking to PR or for first timers to the 5K road race experience. Run one loop or two, for a certified 5K and 10K, respectively.
Immediately following the run, you are invited to a St. Patty’s Pub Crawl at three local Salisbury Beach bars. The best part? They are all within a few yards of each other, so you can stumble – er – walk between all three! Carousel, Uncle Eddie’s and Dolphins will be hosting a St. Patty’s party for all participants that will include free food, drink specials and live music.
All participants receive a special edition Green Stride St. Patty’s Day 5K/10K & Pub Crawl t-shirt.
Age group awards start at 19 & under, but this race does not provide a finisher’s medal to all runners.
Sunday – March 18, 2018, 11:00 AM – South Boston, MA
The race is hosted and sponsored by Keystone, the Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club Teen Leadership Program. Funds raised at the race will help support the Keystone program.
Registration is $25 and the race always sells out, so don’t wait! Official Race Shirts go to the first 654 registrants.
Awards for the top finishers and top age-group finishers, but no finisher’s medals.
Sunday – March 18, 2018 1:00 PM – Lunenburg, MA
This race is organized by the North Medford Running Club and is an out and back 5K Run and Walk around Lake Whalom.
Custom designed apparel for the first 150 entrants and a party after the race at On The Rocks!!! with pizza from Embers Pizzeria!
Prizes: Cash for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male and Female Runners Overall Only. If you’re bringing the kids, spouse or a friend for their First 5K, make sure you get them a finisher’s medal!
