Summer Olympics 2012 – London

The 2012 Summer Olympics in London begin on July 27th, which is this Friday!

I love the Olympics, both summer and winter. The drive, energy and enthusiasm of the athletes in compelling, inspiring and just a lot of fun to watch. These people are incredible. I could not do most of these events even poorly. No one wants to see me or be near me if I tried to throw a javelin! I can run a marathon but I don’t even belong in the same stadium as these people. I don’t belong in any stadium!

I’m getting ready for a little over two weeks of getting very little sleep, but having a great time watching the best in the world compete.

Here are two links that I think you will enjoy and find helpful:

The first is to the NBC web site where you can look at the schedule of events and NBC’s coverage. They are streaming live 32 sports with 302 events. You can also watch events on: NBCSN, MSNBC, CNBC and Bravo. This is a good place to start so that you can find out when your favorite sports will be happening and set your DVR.

Enjoy the 2012 Summer Olympics!

Exciting for you to be in on the action of the Olympics in London!

I saw your post on the blog with commentary about chocolate in Peru and that you are interested in chocolate travel. I am writing a book about the world’s best chocolate and travelling the world in search of it. You will find many London posts there, as well as quite a few on Peru and Ecuador. Please drop in and follow the journeys at http://diversionswithdoreen.com/.

The 2012 Olympic Games are one of the most highly anticipated events on TV. I remember my mom made sure that we watched them whenever they were on growing up. Iโ€™ve come to discover that I like watching the games and Iโ€™m pretty excited for things to get started tomorrow. Iโ€™ll be missing most of the games since Iโ€™ll be at work but I just upgraded to the Hopper. The Hopper comes with 2 terabytes of space for recording which is fantastic. That way I wonโ€™t have to clear stuff off of my DVR right away. A Dish co-worker recommended it to me after she tried it for the show Once Upon A Time. I remember going to the 1996 Games in Atlanta and that was amazing!
