Turkey Trots
It’s that time of year again. The holiday themed races are here!
For most people these races are for fun and an excuse to get a little exercise in before the Thanksgiving feast, or to work off the cookies and eggnog. Quite often people dress up and finish times are of no concern.
You can be sure that the people who win these 5K races will come in under 21 minutes. Almost every race has a handful of serious runners, but the rest of us can have our own fun!
Turkey Trots
Billerica Partners for Education 3rd Annual Turkey Trot for Education
Sunday, November 16th 11AM, Billerica, MA.
There is a free Tot Trot for kids 11 and under at 9:45AM. Adults – $25 pre-reg, $30 day of, Seniors $15.00.
All profits from this event go to support the Billerica Partners for Education, the Billerica Substance Abuse and Prevention Committee, the Billerica Public Schools Health and Wellness Committee and the Billerica Positive Culture and Climate Committee.
25th Annual Burbank YMCA 5k Classic
Saturday, November 22nd in Wakefield, MA.
Proceeds will benefit the Burbank YMCA Annual Fund Campaign LIVEStrong and Pink cancer survivor exercise programs. Both programs provide a safe environment for exercise and emotional support to improve overall health. The Annual Fund support allows this program to be free for all cancer survivors. Registration still available for $20 w/ out shirt. If any shirts are available you can buy one race day for $5.00. Not a Turkey Trot, but in the holiday season.
1st Annual Mansfield Family Turkey Trot – 5K Walk/Run
Sunday, November 23rd at 10AM in Mansfield, MA
All proceeds from the Turkey Trot will DIRECTLY benefit the Friends of Memorial Park. Registration is $25.00
North Reading 5K Turkey Trot
November 27th at 8AM, North Reading, MA.
All proceeds to benefit North Reading High School sports programs. Race Day registration starts at 6:45AM – Students $15, Adults $25, Family up to 4, $55 until Nov. 17th. Then fees are $20/30/65, respectively.
Attleboro YMCA Gobble Wobble 5K
November 27th at 8AM, Attleboro, MA
A nice early 5K. Pre-race registration $25, race day $30. T-shirts for first 250, awards three deep in each age catagory!
Great Gobbler Thanksgiving Day 5K
November 27th at 8AM at Nashua HS, Nashua, NH.
Proceeds benefit Nashua HS Cross-country Teams. Little Gobbler Fun Run: 7:30AM.
18+ $20, 17 and younger $15, FREE Little Gobbler Fun Run (ages 2-10). After November 17 fees are $25/20 and FREE respectively.
35th Annual Gardner Turkey Trot 5 Miler
Thursday, November 27th at 8:00AM in Gardner, MA.
Entry is $10 and proceeds benefit Gardner HS & Narragansett HS Cross Country & Track Teams. After November 22nd, registration is $15.00
Medford Jingle Bell Walk/Run
Saturday, November 29th at 10:30AM, Medford, MA
The Medford Jingle Bell Walk/Run is a 5K race to benefit Medford High School and Medford Vocational Technical High School. This is a fun, family race–for runners and walkers alike. Free t-shirts will be given to all who register in advance. Festive clothing and costumes are strongly encouraged!
Registration is $25 for 18+ and $15 for children 10 to 18.
10th Annual Assault on Mt. Hood Cross Country Race
3.5 Miles, December 113th at Noon in Melrose, MA. Date is 12/13/14!
Proceeds to benefit Housing Families, Inc. and other local charities.
Pre-race registration is $25, race-day registration is $30.00.

You completely forgot Cambridge 5k Yulefest on 12/1. Running through Harvard Square trumps all in my book!

I did check it out, but I’m pretty sure registration was closed for that one. I should have mentioned it but I only listed races that you could still register for.

There is still day of registration between 7:30 – 9am at Tasty Burger! No shirt but the best after party you’ll go to for a holiday race!
